Today we remember IFE Steward and longtime friend, Jim Kimsey. Jim was an invaluable member of IFE’s Board of Stewards attending and/or hosting several important programs and events through the years.
One of the most influential events was when IFE hosted the Regional Leaders Summit. In the Spring of 2002, the Institute for Education brought together the Governor of Virginia, Mark Warner; Governor of Maryland, Bob Ehrlich; and Mayor of the District of Columbia, Anthony Williams. This was a seminal meeting as the region’s leaders had never gathered together before! The three regional leaders, along with IFE CEO & Founder Coach Kathy Kemper and IFE Steward & AOL Founder Jim Kimsey, collaborated discussing issues of the day, transportation, technology, and tourism – finding common ground and solving problems.
