Coach Kathy Kemper and the Institute for Education hosted a fun-filled evening with guest of honor, Darin Gray, DoD STEM Ambassador and Professor of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, gathering folks from defense, philanthropy, medicine, media, founders, and civic tech. Gray shared his unique recipe for increasing the number of US students studying STEM: make it playful! Cultivate problem-solving, and sprinkle in a love of exploration and discovery! Befitting the occasion, multicolored Lego sets adorned the dinner table, delighting guests. The group discussed how, in an age of ever-expanding content consumption, play can inspire us to build the future of our collective dreams; playful learning is, as always, our path to success.
