Harris’ Heroes: LearnServe matches mentors with teens looking to start non-profits

WASHINGTON (WJLA) – With adult mentors behind them, teenagers from across the D.C. area are giving back by creating their own non-profit organizations. LearnServe gives teenagers the chance to connect with adult entrepreneurs from the area, working together to create non-profit organizations to work on issues important to the teen. One offers college scholarships to students with a parent in prison while another offers after-school science classes for girls.
